In line with the Christmas season, renowned hairstylist Miko Au went with a pink theme for the
launching of his 8th salon at Nu Sentral, sparing no effort in creating a grandiose welcome for
Following the latest salon trends, this outlet’s interior details are inspired by the fanciful elements of French architecture. Wanting to create a feminine and gentle environment, Miko
went with an overall pink theme and matching drapes at the entrance, creating a ladies-friendly
ambience that is embracing and welcoming. Located in Nu Sentral Kuala Lumpur, the 1000
square feet outlet took only 3 months to complete thanks to Miko’s previous experience in
establishing branch outlets, with approximately RM400,000 invested into this latest outlet.
What truly sets this outlet apart is that the interior elements are planned and arranged by Miko himself. Being an avid collector of interior decorations, Miko has turned this salon branch into a
masterpiece on its own using pieces of his own collections as part of the setup. As you walk past the reception area, an elegant crystal chandelier hangs gracefully from the ceiling, carrying a piece of history within itself silently. This chandelier was bought by Miko 20 years ago at 16
thousand Ringgit after successfully earning his first pot of gold, to satisfy his desire for fine design.
Another aspect that caught our eye was the dim, yet dazzling lights reflected onto the ceiling
from a disco ball, recreating a sense of fancifulness that was once overlooked in a world of
minimalist architecture. In a tongue-in-cheek moment, Miko points to a lotus patterned clock
on the wall, noting “a decent clock is expensive these days, so I brought my own”.
